Your journal stays yours.
Meadows is designed as a quiet, private place to write. We do not run advertising, build a profile about you, or read what you write.
Last updated September 27, 2026The short version
Your entries are stored on your device and, when iCloud is available, in your private iCloud database so they can appear on your other devices. Meadows has no developer-operated account system or journal server.
What Meadows stores
To create your journal and its flowers, Meadows stores the date and text of each entry, timestamps, and a small set of values derived on your device to draw that day's flower. These values remain part of your private journal data.
Where your data lives
- On your device: Meadows keeps your journal in the app's local storage.
- In your private iCloud database: if you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud is available, Apple CloudKit syncs your journal between your devices.
- Not on our servers: Meadows does not upload journal text to a server operated by the developer.
iCloud is provided by Apple and is governed by your Apple ID settings and Apple's privacy policy.
Flower generation
Your flower is generated on your device from the entry's date, text, and locally derived mood values. Your journal text is not sent to an external AI service for this purpose.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
Meadows does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites, sell personal information, or use your journal for advertising.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Meadows receives the information needed to determine whether a purchase is active, but it does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's policies.
Data retention and deletion
Your journal remains on your device and in your private iCloud database until you remove it. Removing the app does not necessarily remove data already stored in iCloud. You can manage iCloud data in your Apple ID's iCloud settings. If you need help locating or removing Meadows data, contact support.
Children's privacy
Meadows is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect children's personal information on developer-operated servers.
Changes to this policy
If Meadows' data practices change, this page will be updated before the new practices take effect, and the date above will be revised.
